Maker Spotlight: Rian Robison & Tuesday Shop

Hi Friends! Just wanted to check in with you and see how you’re doing!  I don’t know about you but I’ve been in front of screens a lot more in the past few weeks.  I’ve been discovering local makers that I am super excited to shop. I’m probably not the only one who is home shopping and looking for inspiration so I thought I’d share my discoveries with you in a new series of blog entries!

Being an introvert, I love being able to be at home a lot; however, I do miss dressing up and getting out of the house from time to time!  During these past few weeks in quarantine, I’ve been pretty adamant about getting ready for the day as a way to feel good about myself and the current pandemic.

I get inspired by what I wear and by fashion in general so taking a little time each day to craft my look with jewelry and my favorite pieces of clothing is fun and makes me so happy.  While looking for new inspiration, I discovered Tuesday Shop! It’s a hand-dyed clothing and accessories shop that is giving the world some beautiful printed robes, inspired by traditional Japanese Kimonos.  Not only do I love the Japanese influence, but these robes are colorful and cheery and hard to choose from. They are the perfect summer breeze wardrobe!

Seattle maker Rian Robison began her Tuesday Shop line in 2010 after an inspiring trip to Paris, followed by a lot of research and experimenting with different dye techniques. These zero-waste Kimono’s are made from a lightweight, semi-sheer, woven, 100% rayon fabric and her pieces are created from scratch and can be found along with other accessories at her studio and storefront located in the International District as well as online

As I'm in the midst of starting my own business, it’s women like Rian who are inspiring me with their art, their process content, and also how they do business with the community.  I am super excited for my first Tuesday Shop Robe and I highly encourage you to check out these beautiful robes for yourself or if you are looking for a thoughtful gift, the sizing is flexible!  If you want to support this lovely small business, visit their online shop here.

Stay up to date with the shop by following them on instagram @_TuesdayShop
